Solar systems
Off-Grid Solar systems
Standalone systems, as the name suggests, are not connected to the grid. RST Energy offers such systems to clients who do not have access to the grid, or in cases where clients have no access to electricity for even basic utilities, like lights and fans. The power from these systems may be “DC” power for operating DC loads or “AC” power for operating AC loads. A basic block diagram of a typical off-grid system is provided below for both cases.

Off-Grid (AC) Solar Power System:

- It is the only option of reliable power in locations where there is no grid availability or access.
- Brings about sustainability for the end-users and makes them “self-sufficient” with respect to their energy requirements.
- This type of system would require replacement of batteries after every 2-3 years (depending upon the type of battery used).
RST Energy has suggested to implement and install thousands of off-grid systems in Indonesia, Pakistan, DRC, Cameroon, East Timor & Surinam mostly in village communities, for the provision of energy and for fulfilling the requirements of basic energy needs such as lights, fans, and mobile chargers. This will impact thousands of people throughout the Globe living in under developing and Energy deprived countries.

Hybrid Solar Power Systems
Hybrid solar power systems are similar to off-grid (AC) solar power systems but have the additional feature of grid input functionality, which makes it ideal for residential and commercial clients in peri-urban/urban locations where grid access is available. Furthermore, some hybrid inverters also have an additional feature of configuring the genset (generator) with the system as well.
The “hybrid” concept of having multiple energy sources available enables the end-user to have seamless power at their end. The switching between energy sources and the utilization/mixing of the sources are both completely handled by the intelligent hybrid inverter.
Key Features of a Hybrid Solar System:
Switching between solar/batteries/grid is done automatically without any human intervention. Priorities are set during configuration and are followed continuously during system operation.
System sizing (PV and batteries) is more optimized due to the availability of grid.
Compared to an off-grid (AC) system, a hybrid system will cost less due to the system being more optimized.
The system is more reliable due to the availability of the grid.

RST Energy can directly provide turnkey services right from project design, supply, engineering, installation, testing, commissioning, up to O&M services for Solar-IPP Projects. On the other hand, we can also provide services for selected scope through sub-contract services for other project developers.

Solar Power Plant for Captive Consumption (Industrial or Commercial)
Pertaining to heavy usage especially during the peak hours, electricity constitutes major variable cost for entities falling in this domain, therefore, solar power is the ideal way to reduce the peak loading of the grid and do away with the high tariff rates for the peak hours.

Preparation of Technical and Financial Feasibilit
A detailed techno-economic feasibility is prepared by our experienced team. The feasibility starts from acquiring the basic project details and data and ends with a suitable and sustainable technical design. Financial feasibility is prepared in line with the project constraints and financial parameters, with a full analysis of all financial outputs for complete customer satisfaction.
Application and Documentation for LOI (Letter of Intent) Process
We fully assist project developers/investors with the documentation process for acquiring a Letter of Intent (LOI) from the respective provincial/federal government department for setting up a power plant project. The documentation will cover the complete checklist of documents required to obtain the LOI.
Selection of Pre-Feasibility/Feasibility Consultants
This is with respect to power plant setup and a part of the LOI milestone. RST Energy selects the best suited consultants for the project pre-feasibility surveys/studies as well as the actual feasibility studies of the project. RST Energy will make sure that the studies/surveys are conducted in accordance to the LOI requirements, and fulfill the essential aspects required for their respective approvals from the relevant departments.
Application and Documentation for Generation License, Tariff Approval and Power Purchase Agreements
RST Energy makes sure that all regulatory and documentation requirements of the project are fulfilled in order to successfully obtain the generation license and tariff approval from the government authorities, as well as the crucial power purchase agreement with the respective electricity dispatch company. RST Energy maintains the perfect liaison between the clients and the departments, so that all the necessary approvals are obtained smoothly.
Selection of Technology Vendors/Suppliers

Energy Conservation Solutions
RST Energy provides comprehensive services for energy conservation, through energy audits that are aimed to assess the energy needs and efficiency of buildings in any sector. These energy audits lead to energy management proposals, through the application of technology, to reduce the existing energy usage and increase the overall efficiency of the energy consumption portfolio of the premises. The audit (walkthrough or detailed diagnosis) can encompass the following activities:
